unlike any other baby, the one born that night in bethlehem was unique
in all of history. he was not created by a human father and mother. he had
a heavenly pre-existence (john 1:1-3, 14).
he is god, the son—creator of the universe (philippians 2:5-11).
this is why christmas is called the incarnation, a word which means
“in the flesh.” in the birth of jesus, the eternal, all-powerful and all-knowing
creator came to earth in the flesh.
do we all believe it ? do we all realize word by word what's it all about?
how many of all of us that send xmas cards seriously think about the
celebration of birth of christ ? how many of all of us go ever to church ?
nevertheless we are a stampeding herd of bulls and cows following the
tradition where it is a must to send a xmas card. a must ? so says the
commerce of course. postal companies being so happy.
do we know anything about why a xmas tree and why a pinetree ?
red is the first color of christmas. it represents the sacrifice of jesus
christ. the second color of christmas is the evergreen. the fir tree shows
everlasting life. where do the needles point? (upward.) the needles point
upwards to heaven. how many of you knew the needles point to heaven ?
does it matter ? no of course not. lets all be happy. lets all be smiling and
spending lots of money because its a tradition to buy gifts and to send
xmas cards even to all the people you never heard from never did see all
year long. don't ask yourself why and don't be different. stampede along
and don't be different and everyone will love you. if you don't you will be
marked as an unsocial stranger . different girl. let's just celebrate xmas
and be happy. give away and receive nice presents. eat plentiful of foods
without any disturbing thoughts about some jesus and his cross where
we don't really think it all ever happened. did it ? we don't care.
xmas has grown into one big celebration alike carnival. the backgrounds
and details / history of carnival may be the topic of maybe one next column.
where in advance i already know so few people know any details about it
apart from that its about drinking lots of beer and having fun fun fun.
same with xmas - lets go and eat. if you send me a xmas card. thank you.
