Rozenhout
Ook wel Rozehout Pau Rosa, bois de rose, Brazilian Tulipwood, Bahia Rozehout en Pinkwood
genoemd.
Om het nog ingewikkelder te maken zijn er wel 15 houtsoorten die ook Rozenhout genoemd worden.
Rozenhout heeft overigens niks met Rozenbloemen of Rozenstruiken te maken zoals wij die in
Nederland kennen.
Rozehout is een decoratieve en harde Zuid Amerikaanse loofhoutsoort. Rozig wit van kleur met rode
aderen er door heen.
De houtsoort is erg duur en wordt met name gebruikt voor luxe houtwaren, muziekinstrumenten,
biljartkeuen, ornamenten aan luxe meubelen.

EBBENHOUT
écht zwart Ebbenhout bestaat alleen in sprookjes - vaak zit er een grijs veegje in.
Toch is de kleur van het hout echt niet verkeerd.
Ebben lijkt wel op het Zuid-Aziatische Coromandel en is daar zelfs aan verwant. Ebben is in het
algemeen iets donkerder dan Coromandel.  Bovendien heeft Coromandel vaak wat bruine vegen.
Ebben is goed te bewerken en zeer glad af te werken. Het mooiste resultaat wordt verkregen indien
het in de was wordt gezet. Het is zeer hard, heeft een korte draad en splintert bijna niet.
Ebben wordt gebruikt voor ornamentjes, juwelenkistjes, biljartkeuen en ook wel voor biezen in
vloeren.
Ebben komt uit kleine boompjes en is daarom alleen in kleine afmetingen beschikbaar.

Wat is titanium?
Titanium is een edelmetaal dat zich bevindt in de aardkorst. Deze zilver- of donkergrijze
metaaldeeltjes komen in poedervorm voor op nagenoeg alle rotsen en in rotszand.
Welke kwaliteit heeft titanium?
* Sterkte: titanium is 30x sterker dan staal
* Gewicht: titanium weegt 50% minder dan staal
* Resistentie : wanneer titanium wordt blootgesteld aan lucht, vormt er zich een film die weerstaat
aan corrosie in tegenstelling tot andere materialen. Titanium is vooral resistent aan zoutwater.
Is dit metaal duur?
Neen, aan de basis is dit geen duur materiaal. Er zijn ook grote reserves beschikbaar.
Maar de ontginning en het fabricatieproces zijn zéér duur.
* Titanium is anti-allergisch en absoluut nikkelvrij.
* Titanium is veel sterker dan staal, de levensduur is dan ook veel langer.
* Titanium is een ecologisch metaal. Het komt uit de natuur en is volledig recycleerbaar.

GRAFIET  Dit mineraal bestaat uit zuivere koolstof. De atomen rangschikken zich in lagen die door
zeshoeken worden gevormd, zo dat elke C door drie andere op 1,42 Å wordt omringd, de
interatomaire afstand die gelijk is aan de afstand tussen de koolstofatomen in benzeen, waaruit men
opmaakt dat er ook in grafiet dubbele bindingen bestaan. De genoemde lagen liggen op een
onderlinge afstand van 3,4 Å en zijn door zwakke van-der-Waals-bindingen met elkaar verbonden,
hetgeen de splijting van dit mineraal in de richting evenwijdig met de vlakken begrijpelijk maakt.
CARBON : in principe identiek aan Grafiet.

Fiberglas
is een mooi en sterk weefsel van glasvezel. Het is supersterk en duurzaam.
Het weerstaat hoge temperaturen, het wordt in vele industriële produkten gebruikt, bijvoorbeeld
in de luchtvaart zowel als in de scheepvaart, militaire helmen, biljartkeu’s.
Het kan in alle kleuren en vormen worden gebruikt en het is roestvrij.

Rosewood, a very hard, dense wood with a very fine closed grain, has become a rare and
expensive wood used for the making of high-grade furniture today. It has smooth surface,
cold to the touch, very heavy and very durable.  It has various depths of color which ranges
from honey yellow to orange to reddish-brown, and from dark red to rich red. Rosewood has
beautiful grain, which sometimes forms abstract patterns that look like the veining on marble
or burl wood. Rosewood ages up to 200 years before it is cut and made into furniture and or
billiard cue’s.

Ebony Wood ,Ebony is a dense and heavy wood used for making a variety of items including
musical instruments such as bagpipes, violin pegs, chessmen, buttons, handles for cutlery,
and of course stick shafts and handles, for which a strong wood is a necessity. Ebony is one
of the most difficult woods to carve given its hardness, and traditionally only master carvers
were given the opportunity. Ebony trees are relatively small, and are found in the tropical
rainforests of Africa, India, Ceylon, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The bark of ebony is tan and
generally light in color, and the outer wood is a soft white. It is the inner portion of the tree
that is fine-grained, dense, dark colored, strong and heavy, and has been prized for centuries.
Ebony is a scarce and costly wood.

TITANIUM, A strong, low-density, highly corrosion-resistant, lustrous white metallic element that
occurs widely in igneous rocks and is used to alloy aircraft metals for low weight, strength, and
high-temperature stability. Atomic number 22; atomic weight 47.87 melting point 1,660°C; boiling
point 3,287°C; specific gravity 4.54;  identical : CARBON        

GRAPHITE, Graphite is a crystalline form of carbon and is found as a naturally occurring mineral
in many locations world-wide. Natural graphite is a soft mineral having a hardness of one to two
(Moh's scale) and a specific gravity of 2.05 - 2.25. It is optically opaque, even on the thinnest
edge. It has a perfect basal cleavage and this, coupled with its extreme softness, gives it an
unctuous, slippery feel, excellently for billiard cue’s and such. Graphite melts at about 3,650oC
and vaporises at about 4,500oC.

FIBERGLASS, What Is Fiberglass: The word "Fiberglass" - (F.R.P.) denotes Fiber Reinforced
Plastics, which means that the product is constructed with a fiber material glass, (synthetic etc.)
with excellent physical properties set in a matrix (binding substance) of some type of resin.
F.R.P. is a unique amongst materials. It is light, durable and astonishingly tough constructional
substance which can be fabricated into a variety of products. It may be translucent, opaque or
colored, flat or shaped, thin or thick. There is virtually no limit to the size of objects which can
be manufactured. Exellent for all kinds of billiard cue’s.
Composites are hybrids of fiberglass; typical application are Aircraft Industry, Sub-sea, Electrical,
and Architecture. These materials can be designed to withstand high stress conditions at a
fraction of the weight of materials of equal strength. As an example, a commonly known composite
(kevlar) is used in flack jackets and military helmets.
